It is with great pleasure we welcome you to the second year of the Adaptation Academy. Given the success of the 2010 Adaptation Academy Foundation Course, and the feedback from the first participant group, we are expanding the course curriculum from 3 to 4 weeks. The Foundation Course is a 4-week intensive training event being developed through collaboration between the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership (GCAP), the Climate Systems & Analysis Group at the University of Cape Town (CSAG-UCT) and the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Oxford Office. The first half of the Course (also known as the Winter School) takes place at the University of Cape Town and focuses heavily on climate science. The second half of the Foundation Course builds on the first two weeks by expanding on adaptation topics and techniques (screening and decision-making). Both parts balance between theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
