Tracy Mehan III
Tracy is a principal with the Cadmus Group and formerly held positions
as the Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water for EPA,
Director of the Michigan Office of the Great Lakes and Director of the
Missouri Department of Natural Resources. He is an expert in water
policy and approaches to address the shortfall in drinking water and
wastewater infrastructure investments.
Peter Gleick
co-founder and president of the Pacific Institute for Studies in
Development, Environment, and Security in Oakland, California. Dr.
Gleick is an international water expert whose work addresses the
critical connections between water and human health, the hydrologic
impacts of climate change, sustainable water use, privatization and
globalization, and international conflicts over water resources. He is
a MacArthur Fellow and elected an Academician of the International
Water Academy, in Oslo, Norway and to the National Academy of
Sciences, Washington, D.C. He serves on the boards of numerous
journals and organizations, and is the author of many scientific
papers and seven books, including the biennial water report , and The
World's Water, and the new Bottled and Sold: The Story Behind Our
Obsession with Bottled Water .
Jay Knott
Jay Knott, Abt's VP for Global Business, was the former AID Mission
Director in Jordan. He currently oversees agriculture and food supply
chain projects providing support to USAID, IDB, DFID (British
counterpart to USAID), ADB and IDB. Included is work on the economic
impact of CC on vulnerable farming communities in South America to
help promote political and social stability. He joined USAID in 1988
and worked in a number of leadership roles in Latin America, Africa,
and the Middle East. Prior to joining USAID, Knott worked as an
attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice focusing on the enforcement
of U.S. environmental laws.
Ed Pinero
Ed Pinero is an executive vice president and chief sustainability
officer of Veolia Water North America. Piñero's experience includes
serving as the Federal Environmental Executive responsible for
advancing the U.S. government's environmental stewardship initiatives,
building on the programs of prior administrations while creating and
implementing new sustainability programs to further "green" the
federal government and reduce its overall environmental footprint.
Appointed in 2003, he helped agencies achieve double digit results in
reducing energy consumption, exceeding renewable energy target goals,
and reducing greenhouse gases.
